Antonio S. Spaziani, Naval Architect, Marine Engineer, RABQSA LA

A Naval Architect and Marine Engineer, graduated from the University of Sao Paulo.  He has more than 16 years experience working as an independent Consultant and Surveyor for the major Classification Societies (LR, DNV, GL, RINA) and as an independent Surveyor for all major P&I Clubs and the Salvage Association, dealing with all aspects of Class and statutory surveys and inspections (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW etc.).

He worked 9 years as a LR (Lloyd’s Register) Exclusive Senior Surveyor in Vancouver (Canada) and the United States, becoming extremely familiar with Canadian and US Coast Guard regulations and Port State Controls.

Since 2000, he has been the Manager of Auditing at one of the major Cruise Lines, responsible for the verification and enforcement of the company’s Environmental Policies and Regulations; additionally, he has managed ISM, SMS and certified ISO14001 & ISO 9001 audits as well as related training activities (including Oil Record Book training manual).

Richard J. Coleman, CHMM, CIPS, RABQSA LA

An Environmental Scientist with over 35 years of vast environmental experience, he has performed environmental compliance, ISM (Marine Safety), SMS (Company Safety Management System) and certified ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO14001 (Environmental), OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety), ISO 22000 (Food Safety) & ISPS (Security) audits, supervised environmental, health & safety compliance activities & projects for vessels, dry/wet dock operations, Ports-of-Call and numerous land-based operations for private industry, sovereign governments and port state authorities.  He has managed a variety of special research projects for US private industry and the US government and he was directly responsible for management of Emergency Hazardous Materials Response activities for hurricane devastated Florida (US) in the 1990’s.

He holds undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Biology and post-graduate degrees in Microbiology and Business from major US universities.

He holds international certifications as a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, an ISO Certified Lead Auditor and a Certified Infrastructure Preparedness Specialist.
